Tragedy in Kisii: Woman Dies After Returning From Europe

A family in Kisii is mourning the sudden and mysterious death of Lorna Sokkie Keno, a 56-year-old Kenyan woman who had returned home from Switzerland after 30 years abroad. Her tragic passing, just days before she was scheduled to fly back, has left loved ones in shock — and raised unsettling questions.
From Switzerland to Kisii: A Long-Awaited Homecoming
According to journalist Kaka Sungura of Bosongo Vibes, Lorna Keno had travelled to Kenya for a vacation with her sister. It was her first time home in decades, having built her life in Switzerland since leaving Kenya in the early 1990s.
“She had been living in Switzerland for 30 years and came back with her sister for a holiday,” said Sungura in an interview with TUKO.co.ke.
The visit had been going well — until tragedy struck.
Sudden Collapse Before Breakfast
On the morning of her death, Lorna reportedly felt a bit unwell and requested a strong cup of tea. As some family members helped her out of bed and took her outside for fresh air, she collapsed in the compound and became unresponsive.
At first, her relatives thought she had just fainted. They tried to reach her sister, who was away at the time, and searched for transport to take her to the hospital. Unfortunately, by the time they arrived, doctors confirmed she had already passed away.
“Something Strange Was Happening” – Family Raises Suspicions
What disturbed the family most was the timing and nature of Lorna’s death — just hours before her flight back to Switzerland.
Her sister voiced concerns of possible witchcraft, citing bizarre occurrences that had happened at their homestead:
“At one point, she found something that looked like a coffin with Swiss coins placed around it. She suspected someone had performed a ritual,” Sungura reported.
Other relatives in the family reportedly face mental health challenges or struggles with addiction, adding to the sister’s suspicions that something unnatural may be affecting them.
Burial in Switzerland
Following her sudden death, Lorna Sokkie Keno’s body was flown back to Switzerland, where she was buried in a small, private ceremony as per her husband’s wishes.
“That was her home for 30 years. Her husband requested that she be laid to rest there,” a family member confirmed.
A Life Cut Short
Lorna had looked forward to reconnecting with her roots, rekindling bonds, and perhaps even sharing memories of her life abroad. Her sudden death not only robbed her of that opportunity but left her family with more questions than answers.
