The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG), established under Article 229 of the Constitution of Kenya, is a constitutional office mandated to ensure accountability, transparency, and good governance in the management of public resources across all arms of government, Constitutional Commissions, Independent Offices, and County Governments.
Pursuant to Article 252 (1)(c) of the Constitution, the OAG invites qualified and competent Kenyan citizens to apply for 194 vacant positions across various grades.
1️⃣ Deputy Auditor General (Grade OAG 2) – 2 Posts

Job Description
The Deputy Auditor General supports the Auditor-General in providing strategic leadership and overseeing directorates responsible for audit and compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership in implementing OAG’s strategic audit plans.
Supervise auditing of national and county governments, constitutional commissions, and state corporations.
Ensure audit reports comply with the Public Audit Act, 2015.
Represent the Auditor-General in Parliament, Senate, and County Assemblies.
Mentor senior audit staff and ensure adherence to professional audit standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.
CPA (K) or equivalent qualification.
Master’s Degree (added advantage).
Member of a recognized professional body.
Minimum 15 years’ audit experience, five (5) of which must be at Director level.
Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
2️⃣ Principal Legal Officer (Grade OAG 5) – 1 Post

Job Description
The Principal Legal Officer provides legal guidance, manages litigation, and ensures OAG operations comply with applicable laws.
Duties and Responsibilities
Represent OAG in courts and tribunals.
Draft and review contracts and legal agreements.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Offer legal opinions and policy advice.
Conduct legal research and coordinate with external counsel.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Postgraduate Diploma in Law.
Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
Valid practicing certificate and LSK membership.
Minimum 9 years’ experience in legal practice.
Proficiency in legal drafting and communication.
3️⃣ Principal Communications Officer (Grade OAG 5) – 1 Post

Job Description
Leads OAG’s internal and external communication strategy to enhance public awareness and institutional reputation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement communication strategies.
Manage media relations and press releases.
Oversee website and social media management.
Edit and simplify audit reports for public consumption.
Coordinate translation of reports into Kiswahili and Braille.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Public Relations, or Journalism.
Postgraduate qualification in Communication or PR.
Registered member of the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK).
At least 9 years of experience, 3 in a senior communication role.
4️⃣ Principal Internal Auditor (Grade OAG 5) – 2 Posts

Responsible for managing internal audits, risk assessments, and ensuring internal control systems function effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement internal audit plans.
Conduct financial and compliance audits.
Review audit reports and provide recommendations.
Mentor and supervise audit staff.
Report findings to management and audit committees.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance.
CPA (K) or equivalent.
Master’s Degree (added advantage).
Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
Minimum 9 years’ experience, three in a senior position.
5️⃣ Senior Internal Auditor (Grade OAG 6) – 4 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement internal audit plans.
Review systems and processes to identify weaknesses.
Report audit findings with actionable recommendations.
Conduct risk assessments and internal control evaluations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
CPA (K) Part II or equivalent.
At least 6 years of experience in auditing.
Additional certifications like CISA/CIA are an advantage.
6️⃣ Audit Associate II (Grade OAG 8) – 150 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in audit fieldwork under supervision.

Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.

Proficiency in IFMIS and computer applications.

Duties and Responsibilities
Implement ICT security policies.

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and CISM required.
