Qualifications and Requirements (For All Positions)
To qualify for a teaching role at The Pharo Foundation, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent from a recognized institution.

Certification: MUST have a valid Teachers Service Commission (TSC) certificate.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in the subject area.

Skills:

Proficiency in computer applications and digital tools.

Strong understanding of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
-
Effective communication and classroom management skills.

Passion for teaching and mentoring learners.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Added Advantages:
-
Active involvement in extra-curricular activities (sports, clubs, arts, etc.).

STEM experience.

Knowledge of modern teaching techniques and assessment strategies.

Subject-Specific Roles
1. Mathematics Teacher
Field: Education / Teaching
Location: Nairobi
Duties: Teach and guide students in Mathematics, emphasizing problem-solving and analytical skills.
Qualifications:
-
Degree/Diploma in Mathematics Education.

Strong background in CBC Mathematics.
-
At least 3 years of teaching experience in primary or secondary level.
2. English Teacher
Field: Education / Teaching
Location: Nairobi
Duties: Teach English language and literature; enhance communication and comprehension skills.
Qualifications:

Degree/Diploma in English or Literature Education.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum of 3 years of classroom experience.
3. Kiswahili Teacher
Field: Languages / Education
Location: Nairobi
Duties: Promote fluency and appreciation of Kiswahili language and culture.
Qualifications:

Degree/Diploma in Kiswahili Education.

Experience teaching Kiswahili under CBC.

Strong grasp of grammar, oral communication, and writing.
4. Science & Agriculture Teacher
Field: Education / Science / Agriculture
Location: Nairobi
Duties: Teach integrated science and agricultural practices, linking theory with practical work.
Qualifications:

Degree/Diploma in Science, Agriculture, or related field.

Experience in lab work and project-based learning.

Understanding of STEM and environmental education.
5. Social Studies & CRE Teacher
Field: Education / Teaching
Location: Nairobi
Duties: Foster learners’ understanding of social, moral, and cultural values.
Qualifications:

Degree/Diploma in Education (Social Studies, History, or CRE).

Excellent classroom presentation skills.

Experience teaching under CBC is essential.
6. Creative Arts (Music, Art & Design, PHE) Teacher
Field: Art / Crafts / Physical Education

Duties: Inspire creativity and promote artistic skills, physical fitness, and talent development.
Qualifications:

Degree/Diploma in Creative Arts, Music, Art & Design, or Physical Education.

Proven experience teaching practical art or performance.

7. ICT Teacher

Duties: Teach computer literacy, coding, and digital literacy in alignment with CBC objectives.
Qualifications:

Strong command of MS Office, Google Workspace, and educational tech tools.

Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching ICT in schools.
