🎓 About the SI Scholarship
The SI Scholarship for Global Professionals supports full-time one- or two-year master’s programs at Swedish universities, taught in English. Scholars gain access to world-class education, cutting-edge research, and a vibrant international network — all while developing skills to drive change back home.

Governance and Leadership
Public Health
Entrepreneurship and Innovation
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
Successful applicants also join the SI Network for Global Professionals (NFGP) — a community that connects future leaders from across the globe.
💰 Scholarship Coverage
The SI Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity that includes:
✅ Full tuition fee coverage – paid directly to the Swedish university each semester.
✅ Monthly living allowance – SEK 12,000 throughout the study period.
✅ Travel grant – SEK 15,000 (or SEK 10,000 for scholars from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine).
✅ Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP).
✅ Access to the Sweden Alumni Network after graduation for continuous professional growth.
Note: The scholarship does not cover family members, university admission fees, or provide insurance.

Citizens from 33 countries can apply for the 2026/2027 round, including:
Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia, South Africa, Egypt, Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Morocco, Vietnam, and others.

✅ Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals, applicants must:
1. Be a citizen of one of the 33 eligible countries.
2. Apply for an eligible master’s program in Sweden.
3. Be liable to pay tuition fees at Swedish universities.
4. Have at least 3,000 hours of work experience (for most countries).
5. Show leadership experience — from professional work or civil society.
💼 Work and Leadership Experience
Applicants should demonstrate:
Professional experience (full-time, part-time, or freelance) totaling 3,000 hours before February 2026.
Leadership experience in a professional setting or through civil society engagement.
Tip: Strong applications clearly connect your professional background with Sweden’s sustainability and development goals.
🚫 You Are Not Eligible If You:
Hold or have held a degree from a Swedish university.
Have lived in Sweden for two years or more.
Hold EU/EEA or Swedish citizenship.
Have received a previous Swedish Institute scholarship.
