RICHARD TOWETT ARRAIGNED IN BOMET COURT FOR DEFILEMENT OF 4-YEAR-OLD GIRL

Bomet, Kenya – July 14, 2025

A man identified as Richard Towett, 58 years old, a night guard at Longisa Sunshine Academy in Bomet County, has been arraigned in court following allegations of defiling a four-year-old girl, a PP2 pupil at the same institution.

Towett is accused of luring the child on Friday evening into one of the rooms within the school premises and committing the heinous act when no one else was around. The young girl had been waiting for her mother to pick her up when the incident allegedly occurred.

According to Bomet County Police Commander Edward Imbwaga, the mother of the victim became alarmed after her daughter complained of pain while relieving herself later that evening. The concerned parent questioned her child, leading to a disturbing disclosure that prompted immediate action.

The minor was rushed to Longisa County Referral Hospital, where she was examined, treated, and later discharged.

Towett was presented before the Bomet Law Courts today and is expected to be formally mentioned in court on Monday, July 21, 2025, as investigations continue.
