Oscar Sudi Fully Sponsors the Education of 13-Year-Old Herbert Mukisa

At the Timba XO International Pool Carnival 2025, one story stood out—a story of compassion, talent, and a chance to rewrite destiny.

Kapseret MP Oscar Kipchumba Sudi, in a heartfelt social media post, announced his decision to fully sponsor the education of 13-year-old Herbert Mukisa, a gifted pool player from Uganda’s impoverished Ndeba, Katwe Kibuye community in Kampala.

Herbert’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. Despite growing up in a neighborhood gripped by poverty and hardship, he showcased exceptional skill at the Timba XO International Pool Carnival, reaching the Round of 32 by defeating players more than twice his age.

Moved by Herbert’s determination and raw talent, Oscar Sudi also pledged to purchase a pool table for Herbert, enabling him to train and grow his skills while attending school.

In his social media post, Oscar Sudi wrote:

“I am deeply inspired by Herbert Mukisa, a 13-year-old pool prodigy from Kampala’s Ndeba, Katwe Kibuye. Despite his tough background, he has proven himself on the international stage. I am fully sponsoring his education and will also provide a pool table to support his training. Let’s nurture such talent and give our young people a fighting chance at a better life.”

This act of kindness goes beyond just sponsorship—it’s a commitment to empower a young dreamer to rise above challenges. Herbert can now focus on both his studies and his passion for pool, a balance that will unlock opportunities for his future.

Oscar Sudi’s intervention at the Timba XO International Pool Carnival is a powerful reminder that when leaders step up to support the youth, communities thrive, and talents blossom. Herbert’s story is a beacon of hope, showing that no dream is too big, and no circumstance too difficult to overcome when compassion and action meet.
