NPSC Chairperson Candidate Komora Mubadi Jilo Collapses and Dies Before Interview
Komora Mubadi Jilo, a candidate for the position of National Police Service Commission (NPSC) chairperson, collapsed and died while awaiting his turn for an interview. The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, March 25, at the Public Service Commission (PSC) offices along Harambee Avenue in Nairobi.
Jilo was among four candidates scheduled to appear before the Selection Panel for the NPSC chairman position when he suddenly collapsed. The cause of death remains unknown, and his body has been moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy to determine the cause.
Political Background and Legacy
Komora Mubadi Jilo had previously contested the Garsen MP seat in 2022 on a Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) ticket but was unsuccessful. Despite this setback, he remained active in public service and was regarded as a hard-working and transformative leader.
“Komora was a transformative leader whose late entry into politics redefined the landscape of the Garsen Constituency. His tenacity, vision, and commitment to service earned him deep respect across the region,” one of his close friends said in a tribute.

Jilo was among nine candidates shortlisted for the chairperson role. Other notable candidates included:

The interviews for the NPSC chairperson position began on March 24 and were scheduled to conclude on Tuesday, March 25. The incident briefly disrupted the interviews but was later resumed.

In addition to the chairperson position, 29 candidates were shortlisted for NPSC membership. Some of the prominent names included:
