Eldoret Missing Man Dan Kipngetich Mentally Ill Man Lynched in Eldoret After Being Mistaken for Trespasse

A heartbreaking end has come to the search for Dan Kipngetich Tanui, the missing man from Kabitoi village, Tendwo Sub-Location, who was reported missing after leaving home on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at around 9:00 PM.
Dan, also known as Dan Ngetich Arap Maasai, was found severely injured in a private compound in Kiplombe, Eldoret, after being mistaken for a trespasser. Before police could intervene, he was attacked by an angry mob. He later succumbed to his injuries at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH).

Police from Kamukunji Police Station responded to the scene, rescuing Tanui and transporting him to the hospital. Sadly, doctors were unable to save him. His tragic death has sparked national outrage and calls for justice, particularly due to his reported history of mental health challenges.
