Kenyan Comedian Mr. KK Mwenyewe Passes Away After Short Illness

Popular Kenyan comedian and content creator Zakaria Kariuki, widely known as Mr. KK Mwenyewe, has died after a brief illness. The entertainer passed away on Monday while receiving treatment at Kiambu Level 5 Hospital, according to close sources.
The 28-year-old comedian was best known for his viral impersonations of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. This character endeared him to many online audiences and helped propel him to national fame.
News of his death was confirmed by fellow content creator Kafengo, who shared the announcement online and stated that further details would be released soon. A second source indicated that Mr. KK had no known spouse or children and had been experiencing recurring chest complications since May.

Mr. KK had recently posted his final skit online, showcasing his usual wit and humor. His content often reflected the struggles of ordinary Kenyans in a comedic lens, including a widely shared skit where he quipped, “Kwani mtu hawezi learn trading na 1K?”
