💰 Salary Scale:
The salary for CPSB 13 is structured with progressive increments, starting at:
Starting Salary: Ksh. 19,220
Incremental Steps:
Ksh. 19,900
Ksh. 20,600
Ksh. 21,380
Ksh. 22,180
Final Step: Ksh. 23,130 per month
Note: Increments are subject to satisfactory performance and confirmation in service.
🧰 Key Duties and Responsibilities
Morticians play a vital role in ensuring the respectful handling of deceased individuals. Duties include:
Reception & Admission: Transfer and register deceased persons into the morgue.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all admissions.
Legal Coordination: Assist with medico-legal cases in cooperation with police and pathologists.
Body Preservation: Perform embalming and prepare bodies for burial or viewing.
Cosmetic Restoration: Apply cosmetics and dress bodies respectfully as per family or cultural needs.
Post-Mortem Support: Assist pathologists during autopsies and maintain hygiene in autopsy rooms.
Sanitation: Clean, disinfect, and sterilize all mortuary areas and tools.
Family Assistance: Guide bereaved families through identification and collection processes with compassion.
🎓 Minimum Requirements
Academic Qualifications:
A Certificate in Mortuary Science or a related field from a recognized institution (minimum 6 months).
Training must include embalming, hygiene, anatomy, and body handling.
Licensing & Registration:
Valid registration certificate from the Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority (KHPOA).
A valid practicing license from the same authority.
