I&M Bank is currently seeking skilled professionals to join its growing Bancassurance Division as Business Development Officers (General Business) in four key locations across Kenya.
📍 1. Business Development Officer – General Business (Kisii)
Location: Kisii
Experience: Minimum 3 years
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
Job Purpose:
To drive the growth of Bancassurance business across I&M Bank branches in Kisii and surrounding regions while generating non-funded income through cross-selling and upselling insurance policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, prospect, and onboard new clients.
Prepare quotations and negotiate policy terms.
Manage client renewals and ensure 90% retention.
Conduct risk surveys, valuations, and client visits.
Collect premiums and liaise with finance for receipting.
Train branch and sales staff on Bancassurance products.
Ensure regulatory compliance and proper insurance for bank collaterals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Social Sciences, or related field.
COP, IIK, DIP, or CII professional certification.
Member of a recognized professional body.
At least 3 years’ relevant experience in a financial or insurance institution.
📍 2. Business Development Officer – General Business (Nakuru)
Location: Nakuru
Experience: Minimum 3 years
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
Job Purpose:
To expand the Bancassurance portfolio in Nakuru by developing new business, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring consistent revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Market insurance products to new and existing clients.
Negotiate and close sales effectively.
Achieve renewal targets through follow-ups and client engagement.
Conduct client meetings and ensure risk surveys are completed.
Support staff training on Bancassurance offerings.
Maintain strong relations with branch teams and customers.
Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
COP, IIK, DIP, or CII certification.
Professional membership in an insurance body.
At least 3 years’ experience in business development within the banking or insurance sector.
📍 3. Business Development Officer – General Business (Kitengela)
Location: Kitengela
Experience: Minimum 3 years
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
Job Purpose:
To grow Bancassurance revenue in Kitengela through strategic marketing, customer engagement, and cross-selling opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Prospect for new clients and strengthen existing relationships.
Handle client quotations and negotiate competitive terms.
Ensure timely renewals and retention of existing accounts.
Visit clients to review insurance coverage and risk management.
Facilitate training for staff on Bancassurance products.
Coordinate claims and policy documentation processes.
Uphold compliance with bank and insurance regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related discipline.
COP, IIK, DIP, or CII certification.
Member of a professional insurance association.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar business development role.
📍 4. Business Development Officer – General Business (Nairobi)
Location: Nairobi
Experience: Minimum 3 years
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
Job Purpose:
To lead Bancassurance business development initiatives within Nairobi branches by generating insurance sales, growing portfolios, and maximizing cross-selling opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute marketing strategies for insurance products.
Manage renewals and achieve set retention targets.
Conduct client visits and provide risk advisory support.
Collect premiums and ensure correct documentation.
Build relationships with branch managers and sales staff.
Deliver training and promote product knowledge.
Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Social Sciences.
Professional qualifications: COP, IIK, DIP, or CII.
Membership in a professional body preferred.
3+ years of experience in banking, insurance, or sales.
