The Higher Education Financing (HEF) portal has officially opened the 2025/2026 application window for both First-Time and Subsequent Applicants for Undergraduate and TVET loans and scholarships.

✅ Who Can Apply?

1. First-Time Applicants (Undergraduate & TVET)

• Kenyan students joining university or TVET institutions for the first time.

• Must have a valid admission letter from a recognized institution.

• Must apply online via the HEF Portal.

2. Subsequent Applicants

• Students who have previously received HELB funding and are continuing their studies.

• Required to update their details and confirm continued eligibility.

🔹 For First-Time Applicants:

1. Visit the HEF portal: 👉 https://portal.hef.co.ke/auth/signin

2. Create an account and log in.

3. Fill in your personal, academic, and financial details.

4. Upload the required documents (ID, admission letter, guarantors’ ID copies, etc.).

5. Submit and print the HELB Acknowledgement Slip.

🔹 For Subsequent Applicants:

1. Dial *642# on your mobile phone (Safaricom line recommended)
   OR

2. Use the official HELB App (Download from Google Play Store or Apple App Store).

3. Update your academic details and confirm your application.
