IEBC is recruiting Presiding Officers, Deputy Presiding Officers, Clerks, Trainers, ICT Officers, and Voter Educators for the upcoming by-elections across Kenya. These are short-term roles with daily wages and the opportunity to support credible elections.

🧭 1. Presiding & Deputy Presiding Officer
Department: By-Election Temporary Jobs
Location: By-Election Areas
Deadline: October 16, 2025 – 5:00 PM
Duties & Responsibilities
Take overall charge of the polling station.
Supervise polling activities and ensure smooth voter flow.
Operate KIEMS kits and ensure data transmission to tallying centers.
Maintain order and security within the polling station.
Declare results and ensure proper documentation and transmission.
Requirements
Kenyan citizen of high integrity, non-partisan.
Degree/Diploma from a recognized institution.
Computer-literate, with strong communication and leadership skills.
Must be available throughout the election period and resident in the area of application.
💰 Wages:
Presiding Officer – Ksh 2,000 per day
Deputy Presiding Officer – Ksh 1,800 per day
🗂️ 2. Voter Registration Clerk – Huduma Centre
Department: IEBC Huduma Centre Jobs
Location: Huduma Centres across Kenya
Deadline: October 16, 2025 – 5:00 PM
Duties
Operate biometric registration kits (KIEMS/VIU tablets).
Verify eligibility of applicants and assist in form filling.
Ensure safe custody of registration equipment.
Requirements
Kenyan citizen aged 19 years or above.
KCSE C- (minus) minimum.
Computer literate; diploma in ICT, Statistics, or Business an added advantage.

📚 3. Ward-Based Voter Educator
Department: By-Election Temporary Jobs
Location: By-Election Wards

Duties
Conduct voter education in schools, churches, markets, and other public spaces.
Liaise with local leaders and organizations.
Prepare weekly reports and assess public understanding of electoral processes.
💰 Wages:
County Voter Educator – Ksh 2,500/day
Constituency Voter Educator – Ksh 2,000/day
Ward-Based Voter Educator – Ksh 1,500/day
🧾 4. Polling/Counting Clerk
Department: By-Election Temporary Jobs
Location: Polling Stations
Deadline: October 16, 2025 – 5:00 PM
Duties
Assist in setting up polling stations and counting rooms.
Guide voters and issue ballot papers.
Support in sorting and counting votes.
Requirements
KCSE C- and above, non-partisan, and of good character.
Resident of the area of application.

💻 5. ICT Clerk

Duties
Provide ICT support at tallying centers.
Configure and test KIEMS kits.
Support election officials in data transmission and system maintenance.
Requirements
Diploma in ICT or a related field; ICT certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA) are an added advantage.
At least 2 years of experience in ICT support.
Resident in the area of application.

🧑🏫 6. Support Electoral Trainer (SET)

Duties
Train Presiding Officers, Deputy Presiding Officers, and Clerks.
Prepare training venues and materials.
Assist the Returning Officer in election training and reporting.
Requirements
Degree/Diploma holder, computer literate, experienced in training.
Resident in the constituency/ward applied for.

🚛 7. Logistics Officer

Duties
Plan and coordinate election material distribution.
Manage transport and retrieval of election materials.
Maintain accurate records of received and distributed materials.
Requirements
Degree/Diploma in a relevant field, computer literate.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Familiar with local geography and infrastructure.
💰 Wages: Ksh 1,500 per day
🗣️ 8. Voter Educator

Location: Counties & Constituencies with By-Elections

Duties
Coordinate voter education activities within assigned areas.
Supervise ward-based voter educators.
Engage community stakeholders, media, and CSOs.
Compile voter education and stakeholder engagement reports.
Requirements
Diploma and above in Social Sciences or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in voter education or community mobilization.
Resident in the by-election area and fluent in local language.
