1. Trainer Positions

Applied Science	Analytical Chemistry / Science Laboratory Technology	Bachelor of Technology in Industrial/Applied Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or equivalent	1

Key Responsibilities for Trainers:

Undertake training in areas of specialization in accordance with the syllabus.
Prepare teaching/learning materials and schemes of work.
Develop technical teaching and training materials.
Set and mark examinations/assignments.
Supervise trainees on attachment.
Instruct, guide, and evaluate trainees in practical exercises.
Participate in curriculum and training programme development.
Conduct research under the guidance of a senior trainer.

Additional Requirements:

Background training in Competency-Based Education Training (CBET).
Pedagogy training, IVETA registration, or registration with relevant professional bodies (added advantage).

2. Assistant Librarian

Department: Library
Qualification: Diploma in Library Studies, Information Science, or equivalent + Certificate in Computer Applications.
Positions: 1

Duties Include:

Responding to library queries.
Charging and discharging library materials.
Maintaining statistical records and microfilming services.
Shelving and managing library collections.

3. ICT Technician

Department: Computing and Informatics
Qualification: Diploma in IT, Business IT, ICT, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Positions: 1

Duties Include:

Maintaining ICT equipment and peripherals.
Installing and supporting servers and software.
Providing user support and technical documentation.

4. Technician – Applied Science

Department: Applied Sciences
Qualification: Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology, Analytical Chemistry, or Applied Biology + Certificate in Computer Applications.
Positions: 1

Duties Include:

Preparing practical sessions.
Maintaining laboratory equipment and safety.
Keeping inventory and records of tools and materials.

5. Cook

Department: Catering
Qualification: Craft Certificate in Food and Beverage + Valid Health Certificate for Food Handlers.
Positions: 1

Duties Include:

Food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Kitchen management and equipment setup.
Ensuring food supplies and equipment are ready for daily service.

Terms & Conditions

Successful candidates will be appointed on a one-year internship basis.
Appointments are subject to The Siaya National Polytechnic Governing Council terms and conditions.
