Eldoret Sports Club has officially cancelled the August 2nd event of renowned Kalenjin content creator Senge Helena, citing the prevailing security situation in the country.
In a letter dated June 27, 2025, addressed to the event organizers of the “TOS MAJEHOVAH SHOW,” the club communicated the immediate cancellation of the event, which was scheduled to take place at their grounds. The letter, signed by Mr. Samson Changwony, the Honorary Club Secretary, reads in part:
“…due to the security situation currently in the country, we hereby cancel hosting the event here at Eldoret Sports Club grounds with immediate effect…”

Protests, Police Brutality & Rising Tensions
The cancellation follows Senge Helena’s active participation in the ongoing Gen Z-led demonstrations against poor governance and police brutality, particularly after the tragic death of Albert Ojwang in Nairobi.
During the protests, Senge Helena posted photos from the streets of Nairobi with the caption:
“I stand with our fallen brothers and sisters. We will all fall.”
Her presence in the demonstrations, especially as a high-profile content creator from the Rift Valley region, has been viewed by some in the Kalenjin community as a betrayal to President Ruto, a fellow Kalenjin.
In an interview, the comedian clarified:
“I had travelled from Eldoret to Nairobi for a show promotion. Joining the protest was a coincidence since my friends were already participating.”
She Speaks: “The Show Is Still On”
Despite the backlash, Senge Helena maintained that the event will go on at a different venue:
“The show has not been cancelled, venue coming soon…. Thank you so much for the support shiieeeeee.”
Solidarity Grows: Influencers Step In
Her fans and fellow influencers have rallied behind him with words of encouragement and pledges of support:
-
Alfred Koech – The Sergent, Kenyan-Australian influencer:
“Senge, leta Paybill, tuweke ile ambayo ingeendana na show. Hii ni mambo madogo. Vitisho havina nafasi na havitashinda.”
-
Anita Soina – The Green MP: “Nataka niweke yeye pesa pia”
-
Viole Roby: “Senge tuma Paybill. Pretty sure my small dollars will make a difference”
A Symbol of Boldness
This incident not only shows the impact of the Gen Z revolution but also highlights the tightrope walked by public figures, especially from regions strongly tied to political power. Senge Helena’s stance and resilience mark her as a rising voice in Kenya’s ongoing fight for justice and accountability.
