Purpose of the Job: The core function of this role is to drive the Authority’s vehicles and transport authorized personnel for official purposes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and reliability in all operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Driver for the TRA, your day-to-day tasks will be crucial for smooth operations. Your responsibilities will include:

Driving motor vehicles as authorized.

Conducting routine vehicle checks to ensure they are in optimal condition.

Maintaining accurate work tickets for assigned vehicles.
-
Ensuring the security and safety of the vehicle both on and off the road.
-
Reporting accidents promptly and following up on police abstracts.

Guaranteeing the safety of all passengers and/or goods in the vehicle.

Keeping the vehicle clean and presentable at all times.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements for the Driver Job
To be considered for this TRA driver position, you must meet the following criteria:

Experience: At least three (3) years’ experience in the grade of Driver II or in a comparable position.

Education: Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (plain) or its equivalent.

Driving License: A valid driving license with no current endorsements.
-
Trade Test: Passed the Occupational Trade Test for Drivers Grade III from the Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or the Ministry of Roads.

First-Aid Certificate: A First-Aid Certificate from St. John Ambulance, KIHBT, or another recognized institution.

Suitability Test: Passed the Suitability Test for Drivers Grade III.

Defensive Driving: A valid Defensive Driving Certificate.

Chapter Six: Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
