🎙️ Chebet’s Reaction
“I’m so happy to become the first woman to run under 14 minutes. After Rome, I knew I was capable of a world record. I told myself, ‘If Faith is going for the 1500m world record, why not me for the 5000m?’” – Beatrice Chebet
Chebet had run 14:03.69 in Rome, a personal best at the time, which gave her the confidence to aim for history in Eugene. Her belief, training, and execution were rewarded with a record-breaking moment that will inspire generations.
