🎓 Introduction
The University of Manchester has announced its Global Futures Scholarships 2026, offering over 300 scholarships worth more than £6 million to international students starting their studies in September 2026.
These prestigious awards are open to students from Kenya and across Africa, giving outstanding learners a chance to study at one of the world’s leading research universities in the UK.

📝 Entry Requirements
To qualify, you must:
Be an international, self-funded student from Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Botswana, Mauritius, South Africa, Zimbabwe, or Egypt (for master’s).
Be applying for a full-time, on-campus program at The University of Manchester starting September 2026.
Demonstrate academic excellence and submit a strong personal statement.
Have predicted or achieved top grades in your current studies.
🎯 Undergraduate Awards
The University offers over 100 merit-based undergraduate scholarships, each worth up to £30,000 (£10,000 per year for three years).
Eligible qualifications:
A-levels
IB Diploma
South African NSC or IEB
NCUK International Foundation Year
Bridge House College Foundation
Award details:
£10,000 per year, renewable each year if you maintain at least 60% in exams and assessments.
Scholarships are automatically considered after you receive an academic offer.
Based on academic merit and the strength of your personal statement.
Not eligible: Medicine, Dentistry, Architecture, or courses with an integrated foundation year.
🎓 Master’s Awards
For postgraduate students, the Global Futures Scholarships for Africa are worth £18,000 each and are applied as a tuition fee discount.
Eligibility summary:
Open to students domiciled in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt, Botswana, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
Hold an unconditional offer for a full-time, on-campus master’s course by 23 April 2026.
Submit the online scholarship form by the same deadline (emailed to eligible offer holders).
Selection based on:
Academic excellence.
Quality of your scholarship application.
Efforts to maintain balance across gender, domicile, and course.
Not eligible: MBA, MPhil, MArch, MA in Architecture and Urbanism, MLA, PGCE, Clinical Medicine, Dentistry, and certain Master’s by Research programs.
